Day 14 Atapuerca to Burgos or How Did I Do that?

Walking the Camino we walk mainly from east to west. In the morning the sun is at our backs and closer to lunch at our left, with our right arms in the shade most of the time. Somehow I managed to burn my right arm and shoulder, though I have no idea how. Yesterday I bought sun block spf 50, so I should be fine.
We arrived in Burgos on Holy Thursday, so many places and most shops were closed, but instead all churches were open for prayer after mass, so I was able to see some of them. Burgos is a beautiful city that I would like to visit again in the future. We went to mass in the cathedral, a fantastic and moving experience. After mass there were two processionen walking through town, with a lot of people taking part and bands playing, a once in a lifetime thing to be a part of. I made it back to the albergue just before closing, a late night for once.

På caminon går man för det mesta från öster till väster. På morgonen har man solen i ryggen och närmare lunch skiner den på vänster sida, med höger arm och axel i skuggan. Trots detta har jag lyckats bränna just höger arm och axel. Helt obegripligt. Nu har jag i alla fall köpt solkräm med faktor 50, och det verkar fungera bra.

Vi kom till Burgos på skärtorsdagen, som firas mycket här. Pga detta är det mesta stängt på eftermiddagen, vilket gjorde oss ledsna. Sedan upptäckte vi att alla kyrkor är öppna efter mässan fram till midnatt, så vi hann i alla fall se några stycken. Burgos är en mycket vacker stad som.jag gärna besöker i framtiden.
Vi gick på mässan i katedralen, en fantastisk upplevelse. Efter mässan åt vi en väldigt god middag, och sedan tittade jag på processionen. Två processioner startade på varsin sida av staden, och möttes på torget nedanför katedralen. Flera orkestrar var med och särskilt trummorna var mäktiga. De marscherade i flera timmar och spelade fortfarande när jag gick och la mig.
